Operation Compassion Continues Tornado Relief
More than a week after several tornadoes ravaged Hamilton and Bradley Counties in southeast Tennessee and Murray County in north Georgia, Operation Compassion continues to respond to communities in need. As damage and destruction became apparent, Operation Compassion began to assist victims immediately.
As of today, Operation Compassion has delivered 9 trucks to 4 disaster sites in Georgia and Tennessee. In addition, we have resourced the Salvation Army, Men/Women of Action, Mercy Chefs and a local cooking unit serving hot meals to survivors. Bottled water, food, gloves, cereal, bleach, soap, red beans and rice, cleaning supplies and many other products necessary for survival were part of the deliveries.
Operation Compassion is also glad that many of our disaster relief partners, God’s Pit Crew and Mercy Chefs, have joined to help remove debris and cook hot meals. Their assistance has been invaluable as survivors continue to struggle through this tragedy.
