Operation Compassion Sends Medical Supplies to Congo, Africa

As part of a long term strategy to reach African nations, Operation Compassion sent medical supplies and equipment to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in central West Africa. With many African Countries facing economic difficulties, Operation Compassion has been opening doors to the continent through strategic partnerships.

As part of this endeavor, Operation Compassion partnered with Bishop Martin Mutyebele and his Church in Belgium. They built a 4 wing hospital to serve the people of the Congo. Operation Compassion sent a shipping container to this hospital filled with medical exam tables, x-ray viewing boxes, surgical and medical lighting, various surgical supplies, hospital furniture, linens, drapes, exam gloves and many other supplies. These supplies helped local doctors and nurses care more effectively and efficiently for their patients.

Operation Compassion Reaches Ivory Coast

Prior to the recent civil war in the Ivory Coast, the country boasted one of the most effective health care systems in Africa. Medical needs and surgical procedures could be provided to citizens at no cost. However, the turmoil of the military conflict left the medical system in shambles. Non-profits quickly responded to the needs of the Ivory Coast to alleviate suffering. Operation Compassion joined the effort to fill the gap, and sent 10 shipping containers of various medical and surgical supplies to Ivory Coast medical centers.
